“Very professional all the guys were awesome, very hard working”
A dedicated truck changes everything about a long-distance move. Because your shipment isn’t combined with anyone else’s, it doesn’t sit in a terminal waiting to fill a trailer, and there’s no two-week delivery window that swings wide. We give you a firm pickup and a tight delivery date, and the crew that wrapped your dining set in Birmingham is the one that carries it into your new place.
Long-distance jobs start at a binding written rate of $1,850. “Binding” means the number we quote is the number you pay — it’s locked by weight and inventory, not estimated loose and revised after we’ve driven off. Earl or Wade builds it from a real inventory of your home, not a phone guess.
Why our own truck beats a shared load
Most low headline prices you see for cross-country moves are shared-load freight, where your goods ride with other shipments and get handled several times. Here’s how a dedicated Earls truck compares:
| Factor | Shared / cross-loaded freight | Earls dedicated truck |
|---|---|---|
| Who handles your goods | Multiple crews at transfer points | Our crew only, load to unload |
| Delivery date | Wide window, often 1–2 weeks | Firm date, agreed up front |
| Quote type | Often estimate, revised later | Binding written rate |
Every long-distance shipment carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage. Released value is $0.60 per pound by default; we’ll set you up with full-value protection if you’d rather. A $89 deposit holds your dates and comes off the final bill.
What’s not part of the base rate
So the binding number stays honest, a few things are quoted as their own lines when you need them:
- Full or partial packing of your home before the truck arrives.
- Specialty crating or handling for a piano or safe, from $319.
- Storage on either end if your closing dates don’t sync up.
- Bulky or extra-heavy single items that need special equipment.
We move folks out of Birmingham, Hoover, and the over-the-mountain suburbs to just about anywhere in the country. Tell us where you’re headed and what’s coming with you, and we’ll put a real, binding price in writing.
